EudraCT und NCT number

In the field of clinical research, two identification numbers play a central role: the EudraCT number and the NCT number. Both are indispensable tools for identifying and registering clinical studies.

The EudraCT number, short for European Union Drug Regulating Authorities Clinical Trials, is used to uniquely identify clinical trials conducted in humans in Europe. This identification number, issued by the European Medicines Agency (EMA), is an essential part of the application process for clinical trials in Europe. The EudraCT number enables authorities, research teams and the general public to retrieve information about specific studies and follow their development.

In a global context, the NCT number, which stands for National Clinical Trial, is significant. Managed by the ClinicalTrials.gov registry, which is operated by the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH), the NCT number enables clinical trials to be identified worldwide. It is used by researchers, physicians and those interested in clinical trials to collect information and track trial progress.

To obtain an EudraCT number, researchers must submit a detailed application to the EMA containing comprehensive information about the planned study. After thorough review and approval by the competent authorities, the EudraCT number is assigned.

In the case of an NCT number, the clinical trial is registered on ClinicalTrials.gov. This requires detailed information about the study, including study protocol, objectives, participation criteria and sites. Once registration is complete, the study is assigned a unique NCT number.

Both the EudraCT and NCT numbers make an important contribution to the transparency and accessibility of information in the field of clinical trials. They allow researchers, authorities, professionals and the public easy access to important data on ongoing and completed trials and support the quality and integrity of clinical research.

Should you have any further questions or require information on the EudraCT and NCT number or on clinical studies, we will of course be happy to assist you.

EudraCT and NCT number

In the field of clinical research, two identification numbers play a central role: the EudraCT number and the NCT number.

Procurement of comparative products

Comparator products are essential in clinical drug research for assessing the efficacy and safety of new drugs.

Documentation

Certificates of Analysis (CoA), Certificates of Origin (CoO) and Certificates of Conformity (CoC) play an important role in ensuring the quality, origin and conformity of products.

Parallel import

Parallel imports play a central role in ensuring access to affordable medicines and promoting competition in the pharmaceutical market.
